Christmas-Donations 2015
In the spirit of Lembeh Resort founder Alex Rorimpandey we are happy to continue the tradition of helping the children of the villages with school materials and other small gifts to help enrich their lives and to teach them about the world outside of North Sulawesi. And what time could be better than Christmas-time to do so.
For Christmas Eve the children had put together a special performance for our guests with Traditional Indonesian Christmas hymns.
What the children didn’t know is that we have been fortunate enough to collect donations from our kind guests throughout the last 6 months. With these donations we were able to supply 55 children with new backpacks full of not only vital school materials but also with a few toys in this time of joy and sharing.
If you ever visited Lembeh Resort you will very likely remember Narsi and Helen from our restaurant, these two amazing women continue to support the Sunday school and this year we were happy to present Narsi and Helen with brand new instruments to be used in the Sunday school.
The people of North Sulawesi are predominantly Christian and in addition to school supplies and toys we are happy to be able to supply all 55 children with illustrated bibles.
A new Ukulele, Tambourine, Harmonica, bongo drums and other little necessities such as new guitar strings and a new guitar case were given, we can’t wait to hear the kids playing the new instruments soon!
A big thank you to all of you who have been so kind to donate for our little project and for letting us be your ambassadors of good will.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
