Two Chiefs in Lembeh
November saw a visit from Singapore’s Two Chiefs (www.twochiefs.com) – professional filmmakers, Su-Mae Khoo and Brian McDairmant – who also happen to be dive enthusiasts.
It was their 3rd visit to North Sulawesi but their first to Lembeh – a trip they’ve been thinking about for a while.
They were very impressed with the service at Lembeh Resort and Critters@Lembeh and besides enjoying the diving in the area, were glad to have a brief visit to nearby village, Pintu Kota Kecil, where many of the resort’s staff live.
“We can see the resort offers employment opportunities to the village residents and that it has become vital to the local economy. We wish all in this lovely kampung continued success!”
Brian and Su-Mae also really appreciated the thoughtful packs of local spices (nutmeg, mace and cloves) left as little presents after the nightly bed-turn-down service – a great reminder of the extraordinary history of this region and of Brian’s involvement in the filming of the BBC’s THE SPICE TRAIL in the Banda Islands some years before. Director of Photography, Brian McDairmant is new to underwater photography and you can see some his photos from the week here.
