Halicampus macrorhynchus
Winged pipefish
Extremely well camouflaged pipe fish species. It can be found on sandy bottoms among algae and sea grass as well as on rubble. Juveniles have large skin flaps resembling wings, which recede in adults. Colour varies with habitat from yellow to red. Usually solitary.
