Grey, darker brown areas on either side of the bases of the secondary gills, the produces a symmetrical and striking color pattern, opaque whiteb spots near the central portion of the notum, velar tentacles with bifid or trifid apices, notum with a complex reticulate pattern of low tubercles. Found on sand or rubble. Depth from 5 - 20 meters. Mimics and feeds on soft corals from the xenia family.
