This is a very unusual species that has a limpet-like shell and gills situated on the top side of the body. The mantle is covered by numerous rounded papillae. It seems to feed on sponges and is found at night in rubble or sandy areas. This is a large, primitive species of slug with a round yellow body; its gills can be visible under the shell.
